Definition

Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist sold as Ozempic and Rybelsus for type 2 diabetes and as Wegovy for chronic weight management.

Injectable semaglutide is dosed once weekly; oral semaglutide (Rybelsus) is taken daily on an empty stomach with a 30-minute wait before food or other supplements.
