GLP-1 Hydration & Electrolyte Calculator
Calculate how much water and electrolytes you should consume each day while taking GLP-1 medications based on your weight, activity level, and climate.
Daily water target
100 oz
About 3.0 liters — roughly 13 cups spread across the day.
Sodium
500 mg
Potassium
350 mg
Magnesium
300 mg
That's about 1 electrolyte serving per day alongside your food.
Why hydration is harder on a GLP-1
Reduced appetite means less food — and roughly 20% of daily fluid normally comes from food. Add slower gastric emptying, occasional nausea or diarrhea, and it's easy to slide into mild dehydration, which shows up as fatigue, headaches, dizziness, constipation and muscle cramps.
Sip steadily rather than chugging (large volumes sit heavily), and replace minerals — plain water alone can dilute sodium when intake is already low.
